29 FACIAL RECOGNITION DATASETS

Poster, 59,4 × 84,1 cm

The infographic was created as part of the Visual Society Program (ViSoP), a collaboration with the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB). The project deals with automated facial recognition technologies that categorize individuals by "race" based on physiognomic features. To counteract the process, which is fraught with racism, the project aims to demystify the process of biometric recognition systems and make it transparent. The infographic contrasts 29 datasets used to train facial recognition systems and highlights the scale of the datasets.
